i went to syf opening ceremony yesterday with strings people coz we were requested to go by the school... it was quite stupid coz we were actually waiting for the bus at 1.30 where we only left school later than 2.30 and the opening ceremony only starts officially at 5!!!

we reached the national stadium and it was freaking hot... still have to wait under the sun to get inside... but it wasn't that bad coz the combined schools choir were entertaining with songs which are not very heard of... it got better when the choir started singing modern songs like 绿光 by 孙燕姿 and 郭美美's version of 老鼠爱大米... yan min and i started to sing along, while some of the girls started playing cards so i joined them also... haha, i so busy... they also gave out those kind of pong bongs bearing the team singapore logo that were used by singapore supporters during sea games and asian games and whatever-games, a bit stupid coz sports council hq is actually there... LOL...

then it was the parade segment where all the uniformed groups form the contingents... a bit xianz, still have to wait for education minister and prime minister to arrive, then got some flypast by singapore youth flying club... the planes look quite old model though...

the highlight was the display band competition, according to sources... and it really was exciting, too bad some people cannot see it live... haha, be jealous... damn exciting lorz, battle between tanjong katong, deyi and bowen... tk's performance was exciting in visual, though the drum major occassionally dropped his "stick", dunno what it's called... deyi's percussions were amazing... bowen was quite entertaining where the band actually moved their bodies with the music... in the end, tk retained their title but i forgot who got dm award...

it's an event no to be missed, must watch at least once in your lifetime... but too bad this is the last time it's going to be held in national stadium... the last time seeing the national stadium is ndp which is actually 1 month away from now... too bad i didn't get the tickets... ;(
